Scholarship Instructions
The scholarship application involves the following items:
- Application Form
- Passport size photo of yourself – does not have to be your passport photo but should be a headshot type photo appropriate for posting on our website
- Financial Background Form
- Two Letters of Recommendation: Submit one letter of recommendation from a leader in the Jewish community (i.e. rabbi, Hillel staff member) who can attest to your involvement in the Jewish community and pro-Israel activities. Submit another letter of recommendation from your choice of a past employer, a past professor, or a second community leader.
- Resume
- Personal Statement: Submit a personal statement on the following topic. Statement should be two pages double-spaced, 600 words maximum.
What is your personal connection to Zionism? How do you define Zionism, and what does it mean to you to be a Zionist today?
Please note that submitted application materials become the property of AZM. Email application and supporting documents as attachments to:
Handwritten or incomplete applications will not be accepted. To complete your application first fill out the application form. Next create a new PDF of your application and save it to your computer. In order to email the scholarship as an attachment fill out the application first online then click “print” and choose your PDF program. This will allow you to save the application as a file and send it as an attachment.
When submitting your application please include the names of the people writing your recommendations
FALL 2012 applications must be received by: June 8, 2012
All application materials including letters of recommendation must arrive by the deadline.
Scholarships will be determined within one month of the application deadline and scholarship funds will be sent directly to the post-university programs in Israel to be put towards the recipient’s tuition.
All scholarship recipients are expected to write a report for AZM on their experience at the end of their program.
