Sukkot Celebration of Israel

ViZion Kicks Off 5771 with a Celebration of Israel

Leaving behind the overcast Sunday evening of New York City, nearly 100 New Yorkers stepped into “Tap the Sukkah: Make Your Mark” and were seemingly transported to the warmth of Tel Aviv. Hosted by ViZion, the Young Professional Division of the American Zionist Movement (AZM), this celebration of Israel, marking the holiday of Sukkot, was truly a special event.

On stage were The Shuk, an internationally acclaimed, Israel-based ensemble of musicians and educators who use music as a means to excite and educate people and communities both in Israel around the world about Jewish & Israeli society, culture & identity.

New Yorkers attending the event joined together to create a collaborative art project, guided by skilled local artists. The two finished works will be sent to adorn the walls of a public building in Israel. Bringing Israel a little closer to our hearts during this Jewish holiday season, and bringing the Zionist conversation to New York is what ViZion is all about.
