Vigil for Gilad Shalit
Plan a Program in your Community
March 21 will mark 1,000 days of captivity for Gilad Shalit. Join in the international effort to secure his release, by raising awareness and remembering him.
A photo which appeared in the Los Angeles Times recently showed a tent on a sidewalk in Jerusalem reminding passers-by of the number of days Gilad Shalit has been held.
- Facebook Members: attend the BRING GILAD SHALIT HOME Virtual Rally
- Ask community members to read poems, psalms, and prayers for Gilad.
- Read the special prayer written by Chief Sephardic Rabbi Amar for Gilad in English and in Hebrew
- Invite leaders from the general community to participate to underscore the humanitarian and universal aspects of Gilad's plight
- Ask the local mayor, governor and other public officials to issue a proclamation on his behalf
