David Newman

AZM Officers

Vice President David Newman has served on the AZM board for many years representing ARZA. He joined ARZA’s national board in 1997, having last served as treasurer. The highlight of his service to ARZA has been acting as a delegate to the World Zionist Congress in 2001, 2006 and 2010. Dave has been named to the recently created Leadership Council, which focuses on engaging with the advocacy, fund raising and leadership development. He has also been Israel Committee chair of his home congregation, Temple Solel of Bowie, MD, where he is a former president.

Dave is a member of Rotary International and serves on the board of the Peer Learning Partnership, a life-long adult learning group in Annapolis, Maryland. He is a retired internal auditor from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, which oversees the Internal Revenue Service.

Dave’s wife, Carol, is a Family and Consumer Science teacher at Northeast High School in Pasadena, MD. Their daughter Rachel Nathan is married to Brad and they have two beautiful daughters, Maya and Danielle. Dave and Carol’s other daughter, Sara Rich, is married to Ezra and serves as a rabbi at the Center for Jewish Life at Princeton University. The proud grandparents reside in Crofton, MD.
