AZM Officers

Sandy Tankoos 1Vice President Sandy Tankoos is currently a board member of ARZA. Sandy has previously served as a Vice President of ARZA and has represented ARZA on the AZM board for many years. Additionally, Sandy served on the board of the URJ for eight years and was a board member of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism in Washington, D.C. for approximately 20 years where she was a member and co-chair of the Israel and World Jewry Taskforce. Sandy has also been a board member of the World Union for Progressive Judaism and served as President of Temple Sinai of Roslyn, Long Island where she and her husband are life members. She and her husband recently moved to Boca Raton, Florida and they are currently members of Congregation B’nai Israel. Sandy and her husband Ken spend their summers at Sleepy Hollow Lake in Coxsachie, New York, where they are also members of Temple Israel of Catskill, New York.

Upon graduating college, Sandy worked as a Spanish teacher for 11 years. She was the founder and President of two successful court reporting agencies, Tankoos Reporting Company, Inc. and Ar-Ti Recording, Inc. for 28 years. Upon selling the business and “retiring,” Sandy founded the website www.tos50.com. “TOS50” stands for “The Other Side of 50,” a website that explores areas of interest for baby boomers and older seniors.
